The size S has an adjustable neck girth of 6.7:10.6 inches, and chest girth of 7.8:13.0 inches;
while the M has a neck of 9.0:16.0 inches and chest of 11.0:18.0 inches.
The leash comes with the size S pack measured a length of 18 inches and 0.39 inch width. And leash with the M size has a length of 46 inches and width of 0.59 inch.
Therefore, the size S is recommended for pets around 3:8 pounds, and the size M is better for 7:17 pound pets. Although the harness is adaptable for most cats, your kittens could be too petit to be leashed. Measure if your pet has its head circumference bigger than 10 inches. If not, might be it's not a good idea to leash it around. (As it could slip out of the harness.)
This product has different width for different sizes to adapt pets with different weighs. So that pets could be secured under the harness harmless even with a sudden tug or pull.
